In case you don't know, I was a Production Manager in the Fashion Industry. I went 


to FIT for 4 years & basically we learn it all so I can make anything!

I feel that too many people don't know how to sew....sooooo sometimes I have sewing classes. Everyone will make something or will do alterations on their own clothing.


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
  • Basic Sewing skills
  • Alterations
  • How to make a simple knockoff - a pattern of something you have & want to duplicate (i.e. simple skirt, top, leggings, ....)
  • How to make simple things like pillows, pillow cases, bags, leggings, curtains, tablecloths, blankets...
  • The importance of understanding wovens & knit fabric
  • What is the bias
  • How to measure & cut fabric, including on the bias
  • How to repurpose things into something entirely different
  • Shrinkage & the importance of washing fabric before you create something

WHAT TO BRING
  • Sewing machine (if you have one)
  • Sewing kit
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Needles, pins, pin cushion (I prefer the wristband version so it's always with me)
  • Bag of things you want altered, repaired, repurposed
  • Fabric to make a simple project
  • Notebook, pen, phone/camera to record anything you need to remember
